Privacy policy

Effective October 27, 2026. SolarSized collects almost nothing: no accounts and no cookies of its own. The one exception is the optional real-world test form, which only collects what you choose to send. The calculator runs in your browser, and the usage numbers you enter are not sent to us.

The short version

• No accounts, logins, comment boxes or newsletter sign-ups. The only form is the optional real-world test submission form; nothing is collected unless you submit it.
• Page views are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not track you across sites.
• SolarSized sets no cookies of its own and runs no ad networks or tracking pixels.
• Affiliate links, such as Amazon, can set cookies on the retailer's site after you click through.
• We do not sell, rent or share personal data.

Analytics

SolarSized uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. Cloudflare's beacon does not use cookies or local storage and does not fingerprint visitors. We see aggregated numbers only, such as which pages were viewed, referring sites, country, and browser or device type. We cannot identify you from them. Cloudflare processes this data under the Cloudflare privacy policy. A content blocker that blocks static.cloudflareinsights.com stops this counting, and every page still works.

Hosting

The site is static HTML hosted on GitHub Pages. Like most web hosts, GitHub logs the IP address of visitors for security purposes, under the GitHub privacy statement. SolarSized does not receive or use those logs.

Affiliate links and cookies

Some product links go to Amazon. They are affiliate links, marked rel="sponsored". As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. When you click one, Amazon may set a cookie in your browser so the purchase can be credited to us. That happens on Amazon's site, under the Amazon privacy notice. If we join other retailer or manufacturer affiliate programs, their links work the same way and are governed by that retailer's privacy policy. They will be named on the affiliate disclosure page. We get commission reports from those programs, not your name, address or what else you bought.

Real-world test submissions

The Submit a test page lets readers send their own measurements with proof. It is optional, and nothing is sent until you press Submit.

What we collect: the measurement fields you fill in (product, device or system, measured value, settings and notes), the page you came from, your proof photo or screenshot and/or proof link, and, only if you provide them, a name or handle for credit and an email address. We also record the submission time, the version and time of the consent you ticked, your browser's user-agent string, a country code, and a one-way hash of your IP address that is used only to rate-limit abuse. We do not store your raw IP address.

Where it is stored: on EYEVUE Ventures' Cloudflare account (a Cloudflare Worker, a D1 database for the text fields and Workers KV for photos), under the Cloudflare privacy policy. Only we can read it.

Bot check: the submit page loads Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-preserving CAPTCHA alternative, to block spam. It runs only on that page, and we have not enabled its optional clearance cookie.

How it is used: only to verify your test and, if it checks out, publish the test data on this site and its social channels. Every submission is reviewed by hand; nothing is published automatically. Photos are published only after review, with personal details such as addresses, account numbers and faces cropped or blurred. Your credit name or handle is shown with a published result if you gave one. Your email is used only to ask about your test. It is never published, sold, shared, or added to a mailing list.

License you grant: the form requires you to tick this statement before it accepts a submission: “I confirm this is my own measurement and I have the right to share it. I grant SolarSized (solarsized.com) a free, non-exclusive, perpetual license to use, publish, edit, and display my submitted data, photos, and links on this site and its social channels for the benefit of the community. Personal details (email) will not be published. I can request removal at eyevueventures@gmail.com.”

Retention and removal: submissions we do not publish are deleted within 12 months. To have a submission, photo or published result removed, or to get a copy of what we hold, email eyevueventures@gmail.com with the reference shown after you submitted (or the date and product), and we will act on it within 30 days.

Email

If you email eyevueventures@gmail.com, we use your address and message only to reply, and we do not add you to any list. Ask and we will delete the thread.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent personal data, including submission emails, or share it for advertising.
• We do not run third-party ad networks, social media pixels or session recording.
• We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The site is not directed at children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. If we ever add a newsletter or any other form, this page will say what it collects before the form goes live, as it does for the test submission form above.
